The Lofer mountainscape

In summer or winter ...

... the mountain world of Lofer offers an amazing array of sport and leisure activities. Skiing, cross-country, hiking, biking or simply enjoying nature at its finest. The striking contrast between the mountains and their gorgeous meadows, forests and crystal-clear mountain lakes makes this the ideal location for voyages of discovery with the whole family.

The best part: the Almbahn I and II cable cars are in use during the summer months and will take you quickly and easily to the most beautiful locations for hikes, bike tours and simply enjoying the beautiful panoramic views. By the way, it’s free to transport bikes!

That summer feeling

In summer, the Lofer mountain world provides a great number of mountain bike trails, 7 round-trip hikes with unique summit vantage points, or the Auf die Alm experience trail, which leads you past a collection of waterfalls and romantic scenery. At 1600 metres, the 1700m2 large Roter Marmorsee lake is an unforgettable, idyllic location to while away the hours. The new adventure playground is great for kids and is located at the mountain station of the Almbahn II cable car. It includes climbing apparatus and a salamander zipline, and gives you the chance to get close and personal with the flora and fauna of the mountain landscape.

Winter fun

A winter holiday in Lofer is everything an alpine traveller could wish for. There are 46 kilometres of pistes and 10 cable car and lift facilities to ensure every type of skier gets what they’re looking for. It has been named the top family ski resort on numerous occasions, so you can rest assured your budding little skiers will feel at home on the practice slopes and a 140-metre-long Magic Carpet. Cross-country skiers will also find everything they need on the 4-kilometre-long mountain piste for an effective endurance training session. And for those who wish to enjoy the winter in a more relaxing way and experience its quieter side, there are well-tended trails winding through the enchanting winterscape.
